Coronado, due to its quiet hometown feel is often referred to as Mayberry, after the infamous TV series starring Andy Griffith. Coronado can be so unassuming that it might be easy to miss the fact that Art Bartlett, a founder of Century 21, the real estate franchising giant himself, lived in the Coronado Cays. Rather ironic since Coronado does not have a Century 21 franchise gracing its presence. Sadly, on New Year’s Eve 2009, Art Bartlett passed away in his home at 1 Spinnaker Way, in the Coronado Cays. This home is located behind a large gate at the very end of Spinnaker Way and may be the largest home in the Coronado Cays. It is in fact, the largest home that has ever sold in the Coronado Cays!
Even though this home sold on August 9, 2010 at the bargain basement price of $5,700,000 ($661 sq/ft), it is not the most expensive home that has sold in the Coronado Cays. According to SANDICOR MLS, 2 Green Turtle Road in the Coronado Cays is the most expensive home ever sold for $5,850,000 ($959 sq/ft) on February 27, 2004.
If Art Bartlett had only sold his Coronado Cays Home in 2004, one could assume based on $959 per square foot, that he could have netted $8,267,539.
